MBC‘s latest hit weekend variety “King of Mask Singer” clarified why f(x)‘sLuna will not be part of their upcoming special album.

On May 31, the show will be releasing a special album consisting of selected songs from the program via digital music site Bugs Music. They decided to release the album after a high demand from the viewers of the show.

The album will consist of 10 songs from participants like Jang Hye Jin, Jin Joo, Sandeul of B1A4, Lee Jong Won, Changmin of 2AM, and Secret‘sSong Ji Eun.

However, questions arose when Luna, who won the first and the second title as the King of Mask Singer, was not included in the revealed track list.

Regarding Luna’s absence from the project, MBC told the media on May 29, “Luna did sing on the stage of the show, but to release the recording, we have to reach an agreement with the singer. In Luna’s case, her agency is preparing a single of their own, so they have declined to be on this album.”

They further promised that few of the songs from upcoming episodes will be released simultaneously with the episodes.

While the public was blown away by f(x) member Luna‘s outstanding vocals on “King of Mask Singer,” her family seems to think there is room for improvement.

Luna was a guest on the May 26 broadcast of MBC FM4U’s “Two O’Clock Date, I’m Park Kyung Lim” to talk about her “King of Mask Singer” experience and overall singing career.

During the radio show, she revealed that musical talent runs in the family, but she is the only one to pursue a career in pop music. “Everyone in my family is a classical musician except for me.”

“My father is a conductor, my mother and older sister are vocalists, and my older brother is a composer,” she explained, and went on to say, “I have the weakest voice of our family.”

“As all of my family members are professional musicians, they gave constructive criticism on my tone or breathing instead of giving me compliments,” Luna finally revealed how her family reacted to her performances on “King of Mask Singer.”

In the upcoming episode of MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ on May 27th, Luna, Kahi, BTOB’s Sungjae, Kim Hyung Suk will make their guest appearance and share their stories ‘King of Mask Singer’.

To Luna, who has gained much attention after revealing her identity as the ‘Gold Lacquer’ on the show, Kim Gu Ra asked,”Who was the first one to contact you after that?”, to this she answered,”IU was the first one to contact me”.

She continued,”Even when my identity wasn’t even revealed yet, she texted me,’Gold Lacquer Luna, your singing has been improved a lot?'”.

In particular, Luna shared that Lee Soo Man also sent her a congratulatory message, which made Super Junior’s Kyuhyun envy upon hearing it.

Three incredibly talented “King of Mask Singer” contestants will be appearing on MBC’s leading talk show “Radio Star.”

According to industry insiders, f(x)‘s Luna, Kahi, BTOB‘s Yook Sungjae, and composer Kim Hyung Suk joined the MCs in filming the upcoming “King of Mask Singer” special on May 20.

Over the past few weeks, MBC’s singing variety show “King of Mask Singer” has garnered massive attention for showcasing the impeccable singing skills of underrated idols including Yook Sungjae, Kahi, and particularly Luna, who was crowned the winner for two consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, Kim Hyung Suk will join the panel as a music industry expert.
