[TRANS] 200720 f(Luna) = Mag and Jina Magazine July Issue Interview

Recent activities

I’m currently preparing a new album. I’m busy working on the cover song and music video together, without stopping. Because I’m running a YouTube channel for fans, I’m planning diverse content.

Special parts of album preparations

Self-composed songs are going into the album. Even if it takes time, I’m preparing new concepts and genres that I haven’t tried before to stimulate the fans’ anticipation.

Artist you want to work with

If I must pick one person, it would be Park Saebyul, whose songs are comforting. Honestly, I’ve been a fan for a long time, and if I get to work with her, I think I’ll do my best to show off my music abilities.

What genre of music do you want to do?

I want to do ballads too, but more than that, I want to try a strong city pop-like new genre, with the vibe of 80’s pop music.

If you were to introduce your YouTube channel

The ‘Luna’s Alphabet’ channel has turned 4 years old. I’m communicating with the subscribers through various genres such as lifestyle, beauty tips and diet tips.

Channel’s name meaning

The channel name suggests that I’ll be showing lots of fresh and new genres and concepts, from A to Z, like the alphabet.

Nearby reactions

I was worried a lot when I first started. There was a lot I didn’t know, while switching from TV to YouTube. After properly starting YouTube, those around me gave me a lot of support that made me work hard.

The opportunity to start YouTube

I started it because I wanted to communicate with my fans. I didn’t have a lot of chances to communicate and I needed a channel to do that outside of performances. I started it as I wanted to show lifestyle and to empathize and communicate with fans.

The fans’ reaction

They were amazed that idols aren’t afraid to boldly show their bare faces and expose themselves. Now they’re rather positively accepting it and enjoying it.

The most popular content

On the subject of girl group diets, those about methods of losing weight like girl groups. They’re probably the most popular videos as I was the first person to come up with the words extreme season, peak season, non-peak season.

Memorable comment

I’m the type who reads every comment. I still remember the one that gave me the most strength. A fan said, “Luna-yah, you shine the most in the world and your music comforts me, you’ve become my biggest source of energy. Luna-yah, who brightens up my life, I hope you’ll sing for a long long time”. I can’t put it into words, but I was very thankful and it gave me lots of strength.

Trying unconventional concepts

After producing videos for 4 years, I’ve gained a lot of interest in filming and editing. I revealed a special music video through YouTube, a produced video that had never been done in Korea before. There are unconventional exposures that haven’t been tried in Korea and I’ve written my own lyrics and done styling.

Luna’s plans

I’m planning to work hard exercising and paying attention to my meals to achieve a perfect body. I want to constantly empathize and communicate with more people on YouTube too. I also want to try a sitcom. I acted for the first time at 20 but I’ve never tried a sitcom. And I also want to make a self-produced album with an artist I like, as a duet.

A word to fans

I’ll work hard to become a Luna who communicates lots with fans, who listens closely to their stories, through Luna’s Alphabet and, of course, various channels.

[TRANS] 180119 f(Krystal) = MyDaily Interview – Talking About f(x)&Comeback

Singer and actress Krystal expressed her apologies about f(x)’s comeback plans. On the 18th, Krystal sat down with journalists at the SM Communication Center and was asked about whether an f(x) comeback was in production, to which she confessed, “I suppose either the timing isn’t right or the situation isn’t right”.

“We’ve worked very hard. There were plans for something to come out in a couple of months. Didn’t turn out how we hoped.”

Matching her own feelings, whenever Krystal was asked, either at fan signings or while leaving at the airport, by fans she met, “When is an album coming out?”, she would think, “I’m really, very sorry to the fans”.

“Seeing that the fans are so tired (of waiting) is making me so sorry, and even more sorry because I’ve nothing to say to them. I’m frustrated because there’s nothing I can say.”

The other members are, of course, “Always upset”, Krystal mentioned that among the members, they often say they want to “Hurry and comeback.” and said, “We also want to release an album, the members are so attached that they want to do it.”

Despite the long comeback wait, the members’ friendship didn’t change. Instead, during these times, they’ve grown closer, like a family.

When asked how the members received her latest drama, tvN ‘Prison Playbook’, Krystal responded sullen. It was the appearance of an f(x) maknae who’s upset at her unnies.

“Members! One of us (Luna) is doing a musical! When I meet another one (Amber) I can’t understand her! Another one (Victoria) is in China! They didn’t see my drama! (laugh) But since we always keep in touch, I receive lots of ‘Be careful of colds’, ‘Filming is tough, isn’t it?’, ‘We’ll come to play’. But they don’t watch my drama!”

Especially, when Amber visited the set of tvN ‘Bride of the Water God’, “She came and asked, ‘What is your character?’. To which I said, ‘Me? I’m a goddess’, and she said, ‘Well then, you don’t have to practice'”, she revealed, laughing.

[INTERVIEW] Luna Q&A with TimeOut Seoul

Q&A : f(x)’s Luna

Even prior to her recent spotlight on MBC’s new show Mystery Music Show Mask King, Luna has been singing for quite some time now.

Envied for her bright and active personality, here she gives us the inside scoop on SGC, her fashion and future aspirations.

It’s been seven years since you first debuted and you have been working since you were young. Where do you get the energy?
Even when I’m really busy, I try to spend quality time with my parents. I get advice about my dreams and goals and as well as direction from those I love and respect. After spending time with them, I naturally try hard to work on myself to be more diligence and responsibility. I think a lot about how I can be a good influence for the people I love.

Who is your role model?

The singer Lena Park. Two years ago, I suddenly became very disappointed in my inability to
show my identity as a singer. Then I happened to practice Park’s song “Next Year” and found
courage to sing again. Just singing the song everyday made me miraculously happy. I hope one day I can be that person who gives inspiration.

What’s a new area that you would like to try next?

Right now, I’m performing as a singer. But eventually, I would like to get into acting for
melodrama or romance movies. I really like the movies, The Notebook and PS. I Love You. I would like to play an earnest or static character. You are going to be the host for SGC where
many idol groups are performing.

How are you preparing for this?

I’m not trying to stand out. As I host the show, I just hope that people enjoy the SGC and are happy. I’m not the funniest person out there but I will try my best.
